When it comes to dieting, we know that people often include specific kinds of food items, or try to stay away from specific food items. This is often because dieting has goals. Perhaps the person dieting intends to gain weight or maybe the person wants to lose weight. There are different food regimens including timetables, that people often utilize to achieve these goals. The need to either gain or lose weight, avoid certain health problems like High Blood Pressure and diabetes, bolster immune systems, and stay fit has seen multiple food regimens and diets develop over the years. Some of these diets are bizarre to those outside the groups that practice them. This article introduces you to some of the most bizarre diets that exist.
Ice Diet
Oh, this one might come as a surprise to most people, but there truly are people who snack or feed on ice cubes religiously for the health benefits they believe it brings. See, the idea behind ice dieting is that one liter (4 cups) of ice must be consumed daily. No alteration in life activities is required. All you have to do is consume one liter of ice daily. This diet is designed to help people lose weight since some dieticians believe that calories will be burnt to bring anything that is ice cold to body temperature. However, some dieticians have raised concerns that chewing ice could be damaging to your teeth, and that ice dieting may not be capable of sustaining the process of fat loss.
Cotton Ball Diet
Yes, you read right. Some people regularly eat cotton. Although, it would be mischievous of me if I excluded the fact that the cotton balls are often dipped in soup or sauce to help accomplish this task. The cotton ball diet is said to have started in the modelling industry with models trying to eat less to avoid gaining weight. However, doctors have continued to warn that this is extreme and harmful to the body. There is such an eating disorder known as pica where people eat things usually not considered food. Cotton ball diet seems just like it.
Air Diet
Now, this one involves a good level of creativity because you are allowed to do everything imaginable with food as long as you do not eat it or send it into your body system in any way. So, you can grab your pencils and draw away. You can dream about food, imagine food, sing about food, act like you are eating, or do whatever. Just do not eat the food. Unfortunately, as those who engage in this diet achieve their aim of losing weight, they lose muscles and affect their metabolism too. They also tend to gain weight rapidly when they start eating food that is not air again.
